We stayed at The Old Shippon. The house was immaculate and had everything that we could want, including a wonderful Wood Burner which was such a joy whilst warming up of an evening (wood can be bought from local Petrol Station).
Garden was a nice size, lovely patio and grass area overlooking the stream, so really beautiful. The garden is enclosed (though our dogs did manage to get out, so be careful if you have houdinidis!). Wifi was great so work calls could be made with ease, however phone signal was very poor for us (though as I said WiFi was great, so Whatsapp worked just fine).
The owner was friendly and available, but only when required - very important for us!
There is a wonderful walk (approx 1 mile) to a fabulous dog friendly pub and beach (think the beach is only dog friendly during certain hours over the summer) via the owner's private field - great for letting off our large dogs without fear of others. If you are visiting early/late in the season though, I would recommend wellies as field can get pretty muddy!
Washing was available on site, bring pound coins if you wish to do this!
Shower was always hot. They do have a lovely deep bath at The Old Shippon but storage water heating, so sadly the bath was never quite hot enough for me! My only complaint though!
A really wonderful break, totally getting away from it all. You are just a few miles from Bude though, so lots to do if you want to!

First time we stayed, but will definitely be back again!
Great location to visit other parts of Cornwall. Only 20 min walk to the beach.

We love Parada cottage . 4th time staying now and it just gets better and better .
A real peaceful escape from the city with beautiful quiet surroundings. We love listening to the river and birds and wind in the trees. Easy walk to Crackington beach, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen . Just lovely

Have just spent 4 days in Garyvoe holiday cottage. The cottage was well equipped, clean, cozy. Easy walk to the nearest beach where you can get a delicious breakfast at the Cabin Cafe. Will definitely recommend Mineshop Cottages to friends.

Had a great week at the Old shippon last week with our friends, this was a our 4th Visit and the first in the cottage. It was spacious, clean with a great garden and large patio and the cream tea was really welcomed after out long journey. What a lovely spot for the short walking break I've just had. The accommodation is perfect for comfort and tranquility, lovely views and everything to hand. It's like a tardis!.. Jess was very helpful and responded promptly. Well recommended.

Our family of 8 people and 5 dogs stayed in 2 chalets Bantry and Parada. It was very clean and well equipped, lovey views with a running river which the dogs loved, short walk through the field/woods to beach with a lovely friendly pub. Recommend Mineshop Holiday Cottages to everyone staff very friendly and helpful, we were sorry the trip ended

The Old Shippon.
We had a great week here. The house and garden were lovely, we all enjoyed the log burning fire especially my daughters whippet. The walk to the beach was easy and we spent most late afternoons there. The owner popped by to make sure everything was okay and was very welcoming. Thank you for the cream tea and the chance to live in the lovely area you call home.

Thank you for our stay last week, Garyvoe cottage was clean comfortable and well equipped and had surprisingly fast Wi-Fi ( which we never expected!)
The setting is perfect, so tranquil with the walk down the footpath to the beach easily accessible. Our little dog loved the meadow and stream too. Hopefully we’ll see you again.

The cottage was comfortable & had everything we could need, the enclosed garden was lovely.
We had stayed many years ago at the Old Shippon, can’t imagine why we’d left it so long before returning! Hope to visit again soon as the surroundings are so tranquil, the walk to the pub (Coombe Barton Inn) & the beach was lovely (Roxzy loved the stream!) The duck eggs were so nice we even took some home with us, also liked that there was a selection of books available to borrow.
Looking forward to being able to visit again.

Message: Thanks everyone at Mineshop for our wonderful stay in Parada cottage . We had such a lovely time.
The cottage was perfect, so clean, warm and comfortable.
The view from the living room was so beautiful and we were surprised at how perfectly peaceful our four days were . We loved the easy and pretty walk through the woods to the beach ( took us about 25mins ) and being near the stream.
Very good value, considering we were in popular Cornwall.
Just perfect and we will visit again.

Thank you Charlie and Jane for making our week in The Old Shippon at Mineshop so heavenly! Although you're not responsible for the weather it was perfect like the surroundings and the accommodation. My Husband and Son loved the scones, unfortunately I missed out being Gluten intolerant! The dogs loved it too, never seen them so knackered. Hopefully I managed to hoover up the majority of the hair, they are blowing their coats so it's tricky! Strangely we bumped into one of your other occupants who lives 100 yards from us in Wells, she comes frequently as hopefully we can when our bank balance improves. My cousin and his wife also say thank you, they had a wonderful relaxing time too. Wishing you success for the holiday season.

Message: Our 2nd stay and we will definitely be coming back.
The peaceful setting and the lovely cottage are a beautiful haven to escape to.
Jess picked up and arranged birthday balloons and banners for my friends special birthday thankyou Jess she loved them
The dogs loved their break and the walks in the fields.
If you want to get away from it all this is the place to come. It is quiet and secluded and we hardly saw anybody else it was lovely!
North Cornwall is beautiful and rugged with so many places to explore.

Had a fantastic long weekend in Rusey cottage. Surprise belated birthday pressie from my children. Absolutely loved everything about it. Cottage was spotlessly clean. Yummy cream tea on arrival and even treats for Floss the dog who throughly enjoyed her stay. Great base to see and explore North Cornwall. Bliss, all you could hear were the Owls the River and the waves. Just a word to the wise, the walk to the pub in the winter/spring can be muddy and slippery, so swap your louboutins for a pair a wellies or walking boots and don't forget your torch. If you've got dogs with you something to clean their feet, as Rusey has carpet. Great stay, lovely friendly hosts. Many thanks and hope we can persuade the kids to send us again next year. We loved everything about Rusey cottage. It was a late booking and all correspondence was handled promptly and efficiently. A minor issue with a battery in a smoke detector was dealt with almost instantaneously! The cream tea provided a lovely welcome treat. The walk to the beach was pleasant and easy. The view from the window of the cottage was wonderful and the peace and tranquility most welcome. Our stay was in January but the cottage was comfortable and cosy. We would love to return. It was a very lucky find.

We spent a lovely long peaceful weekend at Mineshop. The weather was wet and windy, but the cottage was cosy and comfy. It was a great spot to explore north Cornwall. 22/11- 26/11/2021 We stayed in The Old Shippon which was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The cottage had good wifi access and usb sockets throughout which was an added bonus. The cottage was well equipped and very cosy, the heaters worked very well. The setting is just beautiful and so peaceful and relaxing. Couldn’t ask for more .
We were kept well informed of details prior to arriving and the directions were spot on. The information in the welcome folder was clear, concise and informative.
We loved the woodland walk down to Crackington Haven beach. Everywhere was very dog friendly which makes going away so much easier.
This break was just what we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay .
Thank you for our cream tea on arrival and for our warm welcome.

We had a lovely, relaxing mini break at Mineshop. The correspondence via email was always prompt from Jess, with very helpful directions. Lovely surroundings with the stream running through the field. Had a nice walk with the dog, down to the beach at Crackington Haven. All in all, just what we needed to re-charge our batteries! What a hidden gem. We stayed in Parada last week. Cottage was lovely and clean and the location was fantastic. The kids enjoyed playing outside on the fields most evenings until the sun went down. Only a short stroll to Crackington beach which the kids loved. Thanks Ben and Jess, we will definitely be returning in the future!

Fabulous location, cottages well equipped and spotless.
The hosts are such lovely people, who made us feel very welcome.
Loved the guided tour of the chickens and ducks!.
Would highly recommend the jams on sale.
Only 15 mins from Bude, and although we visited many places as far as Plymouth, Bude was by far our favourite destination.

Overwhelmed by our welcome goodies π..but also 4 goody bags for pooches ππΎ.. how marvellous is that π We will never tire of coming here π Kilberick cottage is beautiful as they all are π‘.. Views breathtaking πΏππ & the walk to Crackington beach is beautiful. Fabulous pub Coombe Barton is brilliant π cracking food & service. Charlie, Jane, Ben & Jess are so lovely, friendly, welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Loved seeing the beautiful Collie again & chickens, ducks, & new additions piggies π·.. thank you so much xx

We have been to Crackington Haven many times in the past, but had never noticed Mineshop before. We were greeted by friendly hosts and lovely animals (including a duck guarding the entrance!) which made us feel very welcome. The cottage was well thought out (we loved the USB charger wall sockets) and the gentle sound of the stream in the back garden was so soothing.
The walks around the farm and to the beach were beautiful, just what we were looking for. Thank you for an excellent holiday.

Had a lovely relaxing week at Rostowan in early May, even the weather behaved. Great walks from the gate with the dogs. Thoroughly enjoyed our second visit in a beautifully well appointed bungalow in a very quiet spot, with no light pollution starwatching.. Don't change a thing!! See you next year.

An absolutely perfect location and a hidden gem. I am so glad that I have found it. The cottage was warm and perfect in every way, especially with the Covid worries. Thank you for the scones and Bradley says thanks for the dog treats. Some days I had time to enjoy the sun on the terrace with the feeling of complete isolation in the beautiful valley and the stars at night . Oh and the night sounds of the stream and the owls hooting all around were magical too. I really didn’t want to go back to reality and I will be back. Thank you. Carole
